Im gonna pull for Trousdale, Alcoa, Catholic, Maryville, and Brentwood.

Alcoa made too many mistakes for one. GQ never ceases to amaze me. I'm not sure if MHS disrupted our usual play, or if Rankin tried to change our style of play to throw new things out there. Sam Thompson and Jaron Toney weren't factors in the game like they should have been. MHS did a really good job with making sure they were covered to take care of them. Not sure why Tyler Robinson wasn't used more; MHS didn't seem to have an answer for him. I think the momentum change came when AHS got the pass interference call before the MHS touchdown. I hate that something the refs did changed the momentum (especially when it seemed questionable), but that's the nature of the game. Alcoa left everything on the field; they didn't quit at the end. They have nothing to hang their heads about.
MHS has found an excellent quarterback in Juehlin. He is really good at the fake hand off; several times everybody was watching the wrong player. He's gonna be a good one for them. Justin Smith was really hard to contain. Those were 2 big factors, too.
As we say in Alcoa the day after the Murvul game: Maybe next year! We're just a 2A school playing a 4A school who is 3 times our size. The boys did a good job, and we're proud of them.
Hopefully we'll get our 5th state championship in a row...that's what's important now!
